McLEAN, Va. – Naylor Association Solutions congratulates Senior Group Publisher John Bacon, MBA on his appointment to the Texas Society of Association Executives Board of Directors. His extensive background in maximizing non-dues revenue through a consultative approach combined with his passion for diversity and inclusion makes him a strong addition to the 19-member board.

“I’m looking forward to getting to know my fellow board members and taking advantage of the opportunities to learn from this talented group of association and industry professionals,” Bacon said. “I’m also looking forward to learning more about TSAE’s goals and needs, and contributing to the organization’s continued evolution.”

“The TSAE Board of Directors serves as the strategic brain trust for TSAE that guides our association,” said Tiffany McGee, CAE, CEO of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and chair of the TSAE board. “This year and next will bring unique challenges for the association and our industry that will definitely put our board to the test. We are excited to have John and his wealth of experience join us on this journey.”

Bacon brings a unique breadth and depth of association industry knowledge to the TSAE board, having managed Naylor’s relationships with hundreds of organizations and more than a dozen societies of association executives, including ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, for the past 12 years. His strengths include effectively working with diverse teams, strategizing with client associations to more effectively market their member communications to all members, and generating more non-dues revenue for associations by helping them identify the full potential of existing revenue streams while uncovering new income sources. He currently leads Naylor’s employee resource group for black professionals and is passionate about helping others achieve their full potential no matter their educational background, race or beliefs.

“We are thrilled to have John join the TSAE board this year,” said Steven J. Stout, FASAE, CAE, executive director of TSAE. “Thanks to his long-standing career and connections within the Texas and national association industry, he will be a valued asset as TSAE navigates the next couple of years.”

During his tenure, Bacon hopes to encourage more supplier member engagement with TSAE. Suppliers have a lot to offer other members, he says, regarding marketing and sales strategy, brand creation and reinforcement, and revenue generation. He would like to see more association professionals coaching each other on marketing savvy and ways to identify and maximize new areas for non-dues revenue so they can invest more in their memberships.

“I have enjoyed working with TSAE on their member communications for the past six years,” Bacon said. “It will be a privilege to give back to the success of TSAE from a board seat.”

He will serve a three-year term.
