We\u2019ve seen it in the past. Outbreaks, travel bans, terrorist attacks affecting travel around the world, and as a result\u00a0<\/span>\u2013\u00a0<\/span>your events. As the current Coronavirus outbreak continues to grow, more and more organizations are being forced to cancel their\u00a0<\/span>e<\/span>vents and con<\/span>ferences, and in some cases stop employee travel completely.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While there is uncertainty in the weeks and months ahead, there are things you can start doing now to ensure the<\/span>\u00a0show<\/span>\u00a0does still go on!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Offer a virtual component<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Is your face-to-face event still happening but it\u2019s clear attendance will be lower than normal? Now is the perfect time to develop a hybrid strategy for your event. You can sell access to the online portion of your event just like you would the face-to-face<\/span>\u00a0and utilize interactive tools so that those<\/span>\u00a0watching online can be engaged as well. It\u2019s true, if you weren\u2019t already planning on have a\u00a0hybrid<\/strong> event<\/a>\u00a0there will be additional costs incurred, but now you\u2019ll be opening your event up to a wider audience<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and forging a new path you can repeat and refine for the future<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the live portion of the event, now that you are\u00a0streaming<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0it to virtual attendees you should also record the content to repurpose\u00a0<\/span>at a later date<\/span>. You could replay the content as a live event with the presenter(s) available to take Q&A, or you could simply make it available on-<\/span>demand for anyone\u00a0<\/span>to watch on their own schedule<\/span>. Doing both allows you to have more chances to get your audience to engage\u00a0<\/span>i<\/span>n your content and extends and increases your revenue building opportunities from singular events.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Turn your face-to-face event into a webinar<\/span>\u00a0or live stream<\/span><\/h2>\n

Is your entire event getting canceled? It doe<\/span>sn\u2019t<\/span>\u00a0have to! While the face-to-face component may not be possible, those presenters are ready to go with their presentations \u2013 bring them online instead! Just like you were going to charge your attendees to attend the face-to-face event, you can charge them to attend different\u00a0webinars<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0and even plan to hold them at the same time the sessions would have been held in person.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You\u2019ll also be widening your audience \u2013 allowing those that wouldn\u2019t have been able to attend your event in the\u00a0<\/span>first<\/span>\u00a0place to attend virtually, and you\u2019ll be able to easily record your webinars for replays and on-demand viewing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
