Flash Specifications
General Animation Guidelines:
- All fonts, images and support animation files should be embedded within the animation.
- Bitmaps should have “smoothing enabled” for best pixel quality
- To avoid transparency issues with web pages, create a bottom layer and draw a solid filled box. Do not use Flash default stage color.
- Make sure there is no white space around the edge of the Flash animation.
- Infinite loop is not allowed. Please add a stop action after 3-4 loops. If animations are set to infinite loop, a stop action will be added.
Online Buyers’ Guide and Website Advertisement Flash Guidelines:
Create a blank button using Action Script 2.0 as follows:
- Open your .fla file.
- In the ‘Timeline’ create a new layer on top, and select the first frame.
- Draw a large rectangle or shape that will cover the whole banner
- Then convert your shape to a ‘Symbol’ and track it as a button
- From properties set the ‘Color Effect’ as ‘Alpha’ and set it to 0%
- With the newly created button selected, go to the ‘Actions’ Panel and add code exactly as below:
on (press) {
getURL(url, "_blank");
}
NOTE: Do not type your intended url in the code. Leave the word url as-is. The purpose of setting up your Flash creative like this is so that we can control the landing page. Please supply the desired URL to your Naylor account executive.
- Publish or export .SWF file for Flash Player 9 and ActionScript 2.0
Digital Edition Animation Guidelines:
- Set the frames per second (FPS) to 24
- Minimum 18pt type (depending on the font style) should be used for clarity
- Do not add buttons, button actions, web links or URL actions
- Avoid any ActionScript that can affect the NxtBook engine, such as the _parent layer of the animation, _level0 and _rootreferences, or global functions like setTimeinterval.
- Files should be compressed best as possible
- Publish or export .SWF file for Flash Player 9 and ActionScript 3.0
